Sessions

Session 01 : Introduction
Welcome to Photoshop Elements! This is an overview of what you will be learning in this educational DVD and an introduction to your instructor, Jane Conner-ziser, a professional photographic retouching artist.
Session 02 : Opening, Cropping and Saving Files
In this session you will learn how to transfer your session files to your desktop and also how to find them within Photoshop Elements, open them, crop them to size and save your changes.
Session 03 : Workspace Set Up
In this working overview of the Elements software, you will learn where to find the menu items and windows you will be using the most for photo editing. You will also learn how to set up your workspace for easy access to the tools you need and the most visual comfort while you are working.
Session 04 : Learning about Layers
Layers offer you amazing options for making image improvements without having to actually apply them permanently to your file until you are happy with your work. In addition, they allow you to apply your changes in different blending modes for powerful image adjustments and refining your artwork.
Session 05 : How to Make Selections
Choosing specific areas to work on while protecting other parts of your file makes image editing fun and easy to do. You will use several of Elements special selection options to improve the exposure of one image and take a person out of one image to put into another.
Session 06 : Adjusting Color, Contrast and Value
Sometimes the light isn’t exactly perfect but the picture is. Learn how to improve the color of your file and also how to get the most detail and snap possible in your pictures.
Session 07 : Retouching Techniques for Skin
This session is all about faces and how to remove blemishes and blend skin tones for perfect skin texture. Learn how to soften shadows under the eyes and how to know where retouching is needed.
Session 08 : Making and Using Soft Focus Filters
Sometimes heavy pore structure can take away from a person’s expression. Learn how to make soft focus filters to softly blend skin tones into perfection.
Session 09 : Making Black and White Images from Color Photos
There are lots of different ways to turn your photographs into beautiful black and whites or brown toned images. Learn some of the best ways to add a nostalgic look to your fine photographs.
Session 10 : Hand Tinting Techniques
Artists have been softly tinting black and white and toned images since the beginning of photography. In this session you will learn how to add colors from the original color file and also how to choose and paint them on yourself for an entirely different look.
Session 11 : Making Vignettes
Learn several ways of making custom vignettes so you can delicately hide unwanted areas of an image or subtly draw attention to the focal point. Elements offers you a choice of techniques for making vignettes.
Session 12 : Making Decorative Borders
Learn how to give your final images a decorative look by adding a custom border. You can hand paint one or use special texture effects for a polished, professional finish. Great for greeting cards and contemporary pictures!
Session 13 : Adding Text
Title or sign your finished files with professional text and text effects, like drop shadow and embossing. Learn how to combing special effects on type for unique artistic effects that reflect your personal taste.
Session 14 : Swapping a Head and Opening Eyes
In this session you will learn how to make sure everyone in the picture has the perfect expression! Learn pro techniques of how to choose the right cuts for perfect pastes - how to keep it simple and eliminate excess work.
Session 15 : Sharpening and Preparing to Make a Print
Last step in the image editing process - learn how to sharpen without getting gritty pictures. Learn how to evaluate the image for clarity and learn when to sharpen - and when not to.
Session 16 : Bonus Facts and Conclusion
This session is a conclusion of the projects contained in this program. Three bonus projects on red eye removal, adding piping around an image in a decorative border and artistic eye enhancement finish the complete learning experience of this program.
