More Cool Apps for Photographers and Graphic Designers On iPhone 3G and iPod touch

Look in the Apple iTunes App store these days and you'll find some very interesting graphic design and photography related Apps. A lot of them are just for fun and pump up the volume of your creativity and others have organizational tools available to streamline the process. Often there are many Apps that are very similar to each other, be sure to read the reviews to determine the ones you need. Here are a few that catch our eye: Photoshop.com Mobile Adobe has an "edit and share" Photoshop App for iPhone (and other mobile devices). It's free and should be in your toolbox, although it's not going to replace Photoshop anytime soon. Open a free 2GB Photoshop.com account to upload, store, and share. Photogene Photogene remains one of the most popular image editing Apps, and for good reason. It's got a histogram, gamma and color correction, sharpen, rotate, straighten, special effects, frame effects and lots more. This one should definitely be included in your arsenal. Find A Photographer by ASMP This one we highlighted a couple of weeks ago and still needs to be mentioned again among the cool ones. Like it says, you can register to be listed as a photog with ASMP and then whenever anyone searches in your local there you are. Palettes Palettes creates color schemes by importing or exporting from Adobe Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, websites, albums, etc. into different modes like RGB, CMYK, etc. It's a bit pricey, but if you get the free version you will not be able to export. PhotoWizard PhotoWizard adds special effects to iPhone photos. Apply an oil painting effect, fish-eye distortion, charcoal sketch, pencil sketch, block waves and more. Upload your images to Flickr and Picasa. It's no Photoshop, but it's still fun. CameraBag CameraBag is another special effects App. This one gives you different lenses like fish-eye, wide angle, and infrared. Pretty cool to put a retro look on pics. Looks like the App is on sale right now. Slideshow Builder Slideshow Builder draws from your photo albums and your iPhone camera and includes 11 nice transition effects and the animated Ken Burns effect. Add face detection and music and it makes for a nice presentation. 101 + PhotoEffects 101 + PhotoEffects will crop, rotate and make tonal and color corrections, but it's really about the effects and there are lots of them. Some are a bit cheesy, but overall there are enough good ones to make the App worthwhile.
